 Who We Are

Carnegie Arts Center is a fine arts facility committed to offering persons of all ages opportunities for cultural expression and enjoyment of the visual, performing and literary arts.

Our building was built in 1911 as the Carnegie Library. In 1980 the building was vacated and later condemned. It was renovated by a committed group of artists and open in 1993. Every spring we celebrate the Carnegie Art Center's opening with our Anniversary Show.

Today the building is used as a fine arts center. We have 3 seperate galleries: the Skala Gallery, the Garwood Gallery and the Studio Gallery. These galleries feature 19 exhibits annually. The building is also used for numerous events and workshops. We also have a Gift Gallery which features blown glass, pottery and jewelry. The Sculpture Garden is to the west of the building and was open to the public in 2001.

We are a non-profit corporation that is run by a Board of Directors. We receive our funding through numerous grants and generous donations.
